Anti-Scam for Runners.
I'm sure most of you runners out there are tired of not getting the money people agreed to pay after that long, hard run. And since most people don't want to pay the money until the job is done(which I don't blame them), all you can really do is trust the people your running. I have a little idea, although it could use some improvement for a possible solution to this problem.
Why not let the Party Leader(the runner) have a little tab under the Party button that says something Like: Payment. The leader can insert the amount their charging. All the members of the party have to do, is simply insert money into the payment box, and it will be automatically deducted from their inventory.
The leader can see who has put in money and who hasn't. The only way the money can be withdrawn by the leader, is if the destination has been reached(and i really haven't figured out something for this part, so suggestions please). And once the destination has been reached, the members of the party cannot take their money out of the box.
This guarantees that both the runner, and the people being ran are both getting what they wanted without anyone getting scammed.
If this idea has already been used or if something similar, I couldn't find anything, so sorry =)

Well, issue number one is that the runner isn't always the party leader. Second, I see no way for Anet to simplify money payments for running since - if I remember right - they don't really like the fact that people are getting runs in order to get stuff done without them really trying.
In other words, don't see it happening, and since there's not a poll option - /notsigned.
Edit: you've earned option 3 on the poll now that it's here instead of the pure /notsigned.

Well, i Don't see how someone can't easily change to being party leader, so I dont see how thats a problem. But i can understand the 2nd reason.

I think a simple method for preventing scamming is to give the runner some of your armor, because it is valuable to you , but useless for them. A customized weapon would also work in the same way. This could work in reverse, i.e. runner gives you something.

All types of running are NOT supported by ArenaNet. In any way.
You can scam the living hell out of every runner you see and nothing will happen to you. It's not supported. It's at your own risk. Simple as that.

I doubt people would trust someone with their armor though. I thought of something similar to that. But if the runner is a bad person, all they have to do is jack your runes off of your armor, then salvage it. So its not safe for both sides D: I was just tyring to think of a way for both sides to feel safe.

I like the fundamental idea. Do for running what they did for item trading, which is to reduce the chance of a scam. But not only would a whole new interface have to be developed (it's not just a mini-xunlai, but also some sort of drop down for a destination) but it just seems like the system would be so unwieldy that it would be circumvented.
Unfortunately, running is and likely will remain a dicey occupation. Guildmates or your own run build will always be a better bet.

The idea is great, but the game was not meant to run through.

Thats a great idea! I have to say this idea could work for most people but can't you make the players pay a little bit at each stop? and before you get to your final destination the last stop you come for before you head to the end of the run you charge the remainder of the run and that way nobody gets scammed or hurt. Thats what I do and thats what I recommend most people do I highly doubt a net will do that since there caught up in GW2. But your idea is very cleaver! Keep thinking of more ideas that can help people.

Asking for this is the same as asking for the ability to buy/sell guilds with anti-scam. Anet doesn't endorse this, so they aren't going to do anything and waste time to support this.

Nope!
It is so sad that you cannot trust people!
I always pay the runner even if I have to leave early before the end of the run. (Real life sometimes gets priority)
Sadly I have encounter runners that are not honest and I'm not paying in the middle of the run ever!
I have had runners that did not resurect me at the end of the run and left before I had the possibility to get the reward from the end chest. Once they got their money they leave!
So not all runners are trustworthy either, not only the people who get runned.
Ciao.

It's a good idea but as said before running is not endorsed. Them implementing this would make it seem like getting runs is a viable option to progress through the game. They want you to play through, not just get runs to where you want to go.

BS when there are no other party members left you will be ressurected alone. And how the hell did you give the runner the money if you were dead. please post the truth next time?
as for the matter at hand, its a no from me Running is a convenience, not a nessescity. And since when (if you so choose) should you have to pay for a convenience?
forgive any bad spelling i r sleepy

Voted No, simple reason: The game wasn't made for running, Anet made factions, NF and GWEN so you can't run to the end of the game and you expect them to make something to support running? You get my point I guess.

It would be possible to design a scheme to do binding deferred trades, and the way to do it is the following:
Merchants sell safety boxes for a nominal sum (like 50g). When you buy one, you get the box and a key. Using the key on the box toggles its state between open and closed. Keys are box specific. You can transfer money to/from the box when it's open, and when it's closed you can see how much there is inside but cannot access it.
When you want to get run, you put the requested sum into the box and close it. You then give the box to the runner who can check that the requested amount is inside. Once the run is completed, you give the runner the key so that he can open the box and claim his reward. Pretty simple and straightforward.

This is like asking for support for TexMod.
Anet won't forbid nor prosecute runners. But they won't support it.
If you run, you are on your own.
